A Letter to My Fellow Patriots

The Democratic party took shape in the early 1820’s through a process that French Foreign Minister and intellectual Alexis de Tocqueville compared to “the gathering of scum and algae upon still waters.”  De Tocqueville noted that in the quiet stillness of contented citizens, those who are corrupt and divisive start movements toward their own goals, first in quiet whispers and ultimately through the roar of an angry mob, intent on subversion and perversion.  As the right and just majority chooses the easier path of uninvolved complacency, the vile minority is given the stage to advance their own agenda.  It will continue, de Tocqueville said, until the righteous majority stands and gathers to disperse the mob.  He also noted that in the corrupt environment of radical subversives, “outstanding men will avoid elected office in order to pursue more positive and wholesome private ambitions.” Those who did seek public office, he believed, were often poorly informed and open to corruption.

It's funny that someone from the early 1800’s could so accurately describe the situation in America in the 2020’s.  Our founding fathers and those that influenced them warned us against the “Angry Subversive Mob.”  Voltaire, whose writings influenced Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, encouraged free speech but warned against radical fanaticism: “those that can make you believe absurdities can make you to commit atrocities.”  An oddly appropriate statement for the horrors of the last few days.  Intelligent patriots knew then… and we know now… that the tyranny of the radical mob does not end in a peaceful, prosperous community.  Luckily, they gave us guidelines to keep things balanced and fair for all Americans… The Constitution of the United States.  ‘We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, and insure domestic Tranquility…’.

Domestic Tranquility… is that what we have now?

Our Constitution gives us the power to get control of situations like this and protect our country and our rights as Americans.  Patriots… it is time we stop choosing the easier path of uninvolved complacency.  Stand up, speak up, put a stop to this madness.  For if we do not… what society will we leave behind for our children and grandchildren?  It’s time to put an ‘Outstanding Man’ in the Whitehouse.  It’s time we vote out our useless representatives.  Vote, speak out, stand together, and dismiss your petty bickering amongst yourselves.  You are the majority, you are strong, you have God in your hearts, and you know what’s right.

You are being called up.  It’s time to muster.
